A basic wardrobe begins with—yes—underwear, so it is understandable that basic clothing—undies--are a prime need for everyone.  For those lacking funds (under-funded) or living on the street, basic needs definitely include underwear.  New Day Urban  Ministries (formerly PUM—Presbyterian Urban Ministries), a ministry of the Presbytery of San Diego, provides clothing, food, and other basics to those in need, especially in southeast San Diego.   

SUNDAY, MAY 16, has been designated UNDY SUNDAY to provide an opportunity for the community and congregation TO undertake a gathering of new UNDERWARE and SOCKS for MEN, WOMEN, and CHILDREN, served by New Day Ministries.  At Northminster Presbyterian Church a barrel labeled 'Undy Sunday' has been placed near the left door from narthex to sanctuary (under the grand piano) for donations of socks and underwear on Undy Sunday--May 16--and throughout the month of May.
