Join Northminster in helping the homeless! This year as in the past 30+ years, the Northminster congregation will serve as a support congregation for Interfaith Shelter Network. A homeless shelter will be set up at Our Mother of Confidence Catholic Church at 3131 Governor Drive. On January 25, 26, and 27. Northminster will be responsible for providing 12 to 15 hygiene kits and cooking dinner for about 12 to 14 homeless individuals and volunteers. In past years, the shelter has been at Clairemont Lutheran Church, but due to their plans to remodel, the shelter this year will be at OMOC.
If you would like to join other members in preparing and serving a meal on either January 25, 26, or 27, we would love the help. To learn more and to sign up to help, please visit the sign up table in the patio after worship service, or call Johana at (858) 922-6079.
We are also in need of adult hygiene kits. Below is a list of items each homeless guest needs. They can be packed in a gallon size Ziplock type bag. You can bring them to church and give them to Johana Smith on Sunday, or put them in the office to be picked up by January 24.
